Quick Guide

You may publish through your web browser, or through the following email based instructions below.

Publishing to your area with email

Once you've enabled your content area, all publishing is done through subsequent correspondences to posttrash. All you do is send instructions to posttrash@internettrash.com in the body of the email to copy your images, html pages, files, etc... into your area.

The simplest way to try publishing once you've got an account is send an email to posttrash@internettrash.com, and include your  password: in the body of the email. Attach some files (.html .gif, .jpg etc..)

Add the title: keyword to describe your area and just send it!

Attachments

All of your publishing is done by sending attachments to posttrash@internettrash.com you can send any type of file you'd like.
Make sure they are sent in MIME format. Most email software send attachments as mime format.

Keep in mind the CASE of the file (lower/uppercase), everything is case sensitive. Make sure any links you have in your html pages, refer to the exact case of the file you are trying to read. In general keep all your image file names lower or UPPER case to ensure no problems.
Do not reference subfolders in your html pages.

All your images, html files, all files, will be placed under your one area.

Your area can also be referred to with following names:
internettrash.com nettrash.com internetdump.com netdump.com internetjunk.com   netjunk.com internetgarbage.com netgarbage.com internettoilet.com nettoilet.com
Simply use your favorite!

See below about creating your alias.

Keyword directions available and their usage.
Remember, all directions are specified as keyword: in the body of the email
and must begin on a line by themselves!

Keyword direction

Description

Password: The password: direction must be sent on ALL emails to posttrash! This is to reasonably ensure that your area is only updateable by you. Do not forget to send your password, or no additions, or changes will take effect.

Format/Example:
Password: your_password
Title: Used to describe your area under a particular category. Make sure to specify a title
if you want your content to show up under a category correctly.

Format/Example:
title: my dumb page
Category: Used to add a link to your area under a particular category. You can have a multiple links to your area, one for each category available. If you do not specify a category, your page will show up under the default area, provided that a title is given. The category must already exist, or it wont be placed under the category.   If you'd like to see a category, tell us, we have no problem creating new ones.

Format/Example:
Category: political.aliens
Alias: Specify an alias to your area, and what you'll be known as. If an alias is already taken, you cant have it. You can change your alias at any time, by specifying the alias: keyword. If it doesn't exist, you can have it.

Format/Example:
alias: nostrils
Delete: The delete direction is used to delete files in your area. When you send over files with the same names they overlay the existing ones. There are no confirmations, so make sure what you want to delete, is what you want to delete. Simply list out all the files on one line after the Delete: direction...
Use the keyword "all" after delete, to delete all files in your area...

Format/Examples:
delete: mypage.html
-OR-
delete: mypage1.html myimagex.gif myimagey.jpg
-OR-
delete: all

Sample scenario of an email you might send to posttrash@internettrash.com

In the body portion of the email:

password: apple1

alias: birdbrain
category: anything
title: im a birdbrain

(attach the html pages, images, and other files to the email, not to exceed 10 mb)
send away!

The following above would

  1. change your alias to birdbrain

  2. create under the category anything a link to your area

  3. The link to your area would be labeled "im a birdbrain" under the category anything

You dont have to enter the optional keywords, if they are not changing...! (dont send the alias keyword each time, unless
you want to change your alias)
