`SUDDENLY SUSAN' STAR'S LONG HISTORY OF BAD SINGING

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- "Suddenly Susan" cast member David Strickland isn't afraid to sing like a bird -- even though he admits he often sounds more like a strangled cat. It seems Strickland always wanted to be a musician, but his lack of talent at singing or songwriting got him more laughs than recording contracts. Which explains why you'll soon see Strickland belting out a really bad version of Phil Collins' "Take A Look At Me Now" in the upcoming romantic comedy, "Forces of Nature." The actor says his love of music has also made him a real sucker for those VH1 "Behind the Music" documentaries, especially the one about Rick Springfield. In fact, when Springfield recently made a guest appearance on "Suddenly Susan", Strickland was blown away when Springfield taught him how to play the chords for his perennial hit "Jessie's Girl." "Forces of Nature" opens tomorrow (Mar. 19)
