WORLD'S FIRST `DIVORCE DOLL' FOR KIDS

MINNETONKA, Minn. (Wireless Flash) -- Now here's a sign of the times -- a Minnesota entrepreneur has created the world's first "divorce doll." Children's author and divorce expert Vicki Lansky created the "KoKo Bear" divorce doll as a sort of stuffed animal security blanket to help kids cope with their parents' divorce. Kids are supposed to write their worries on pieces of paper and put them in a tiny backpack on KoKo's back. The process allows the children to feel as if someone else is carrying their burdens. Lansky says she was inspired to create the divorce doll by the popularity of Beanie Babies and those tiny Mexican "worry dolls" that some divorce experts use to help kids deal with broken homes. Right now, the $21.95 bear is only available through mail order.
