HANGOVERS A THING OF THE PAST

HANGOVERS A THING OF THE PAST

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- Boozehounds rejoice: you may be able to drink like a fish without ever getting a hangover. That's according to nutritionist Fred Beyerlain, author of the new book "Drink As Much As You Want And Live Longer" (Loompanics). Beyerlain says even a teetotaler can handle as many as 10 drinks a day with just a little preventative medicine. Part of the preventative treatment involves taking B-complex vitamins, multi-mineral vitamins, and milk thistle capsules, an herb that regenerates the liver. Beyerlain says the vitamins act as cleaning supplies for the liver and help the organ metabolize alcohol. Also, avoid eating three hours before your first drink because food slows down metabolism and will keep the booze in your system longer than necessary. Beyerlain also suggests drinking three ounces of water for every shot you slam.
