OLDSTERS CHOOSE '50S AS BEST DECADE

VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) -- It looks like a lot of oldsters are nostalgic for the days of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe. According to a new survey of people age 50 and older, 38 percent pick the 1950s as the best decade of the 20th century. The survey by "New Choices" magazine also reveals... -- 20 percent prefer the swingin' '60s. -- 17 percent of oldsters are perfectly happy with the present '90s. -- 10 percent are nostalgic for the sexy '70s and 10 percent wish they were stuck in the '80s. -- Only 3 percent wish they were back in the '40s and just 1 percent call the Roaring Twenties or the depression-ridden '30s as the best decade of the 20th century. Oddly, not person selected the 1910s as their favorite decade.
