HAVE A `GRIT' TIME AT THE GRITS FESTIVAL

ST. GEORGE, S.C. (Wireless Flash) -- How do you plan on celebrating after you file your income taxes? In the tiny town of St. George, South Carolina, they'll rejoice by rolling in grits. The tiny 2000-person village will host its annual World Grits Festival on April 16, and the highlight is a "Rolling In the Grits Contest" where folks leap into a pool filled with instant grits. Festival spokesperson Nell "Granny Grits" Bennett says the goal is to get as much grits as possible to stick to your body. The world record was set last year by a man who managed to get 53 pounds of grits to stick to his ribs. St. George holds the annual homage to the mushy side dish because its residents eat more grits per capita than any other place in the world.
