COW CHIP FESTIVAL LEAVES OKLAHOMA RESIDENTS POOPED

BEAVER, Oklahoma (Wireless Flash) -- The 29th Annual World Cow Chip Throwing Championship will take place this Saturday (Apr. 17) in Beaver, Oklahoma, but the residents are already "pooped" from collecting cow chips. "Cow chips" are actually dried cow feces, and according to spokesperson Beth Elston, the organizers have exhausted themselves over the last month looking for cow chips that are at least six inches in diameter. The good news is they've hauled in more than 100 pounds of dried dung which is just waiting to be tossed at this weekend's contest. Most poop pitchers toss their cow pies frisbee-style and, if the cow chip breaks in mid-air, judges measure the piece that travels the farthest. So far, the world's record is 182 feet, 3 inches, which was set in 1979 by a man named Leland Searcy. Now that's a guy who knows how to toss the bull.
