FORMER FOOTBALL PLAYER WRITES WEDDING GUIDE

FORMER FOOTBALL PLAYER WRITES WEDDING GUIDE

FALLS CHURCH, Va. (Wireless Flash) -- Planning a wedding is becoming a little more macho, thanks to a former football player who has written a wedding "playbook" for husbands-to-be. The guide -- "What the Hell Is A Groom and What's He Supposed to Do" (Andrews McMeel) -- is written by former college football player John Mitchell who says planning a wedding is a lot like playing ball. Mitchell says the planning before the wedding is a loot like a pre-game drill, so the groom should practice things like reciting his vows over and over to make sure he's in top form for The Main Event: the wedding. Sports analogies may be the best way to get guys to understand how to plan a wedding because, Mitchell says, men spend most of their childhoods on ball courts and fields instead of at bridal shops.
