MUSICAL BASED ON FALCO'S LIFE IN THE WORKS

MUSICAL BASED ON FALCO'S LIFE IN THE WORKS

BERLIN, Germany (Wireless Flash) -- This next story will surely rock Amadeus -- and probably everyone else as well. A Berlin theater troupe is currently putting together a musical based on the life of Vienna-born pop singer Falco, who was 40 when he died in a car crash last year. The musical will feature Falco's 1986 smash, "Rock Me Amadeus," as well as 19 other Falco tunes including "Der Kommissar" and "Vienna Calling." The plot centers around a meeting between Falco and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart where the pop star asks the composer, "Can you help me, Amadeus? Can you kill me?" Playwright Burkhard Driest describes his Falco extravaganza as "a musical about the glory and the misery in the struggle for immortality." If all goes well, the Falco show will open in May 2000.
