M.A.S.H'S `RADAR' REVEALS HIS ANIMAL MAGNETISM IN NEW SHOW

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- Ever wonder what happened to Gary Burghoff -- a.k.a. "Radar" on "M.A.S.H.?" Well, he's about to make a howling comeback -- literally. The 55-year-old Burghoff is the host of a new PBS series called "Pets, Part of the Family" which debuts next month. Doing the pet show is a natural role for the actor, since he's been raising strays and rescuing injured animals since he was 8 years old -- including a 1970 stint where he rehabilitated hundreds of injured birds in Malibu. Although talking to the animals is a long way from tending wounded soldiers, Burghoff says he thinks his new show has something in common with "M.A.S.H." -- they both show the triumph of the human spirit.
