FORMER BODYGUARD TO THE STARS SPILLS THE BEANS

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) -- Protecting celebrities from crazed fans is a piece of cake compared to being a bodyguard for plain old private citizens. That's according to former New York City cop and bodyguard James Wagner, who says his job guarding Robert DeNiro was nothing compared to the time he had to watch over a computer company heiress named "Grace." It turns out the forty-something heiress was a batty eccentric who had the habit of banging her prosthetic right hand on a table to demand that waiters bring her a drink. Wagner says working for the weird woman was so humiliating, he wound up quitting. He's since moved on to bigger and better jobs -- such as working security for Mariah Carey's wedding. However, he admits he did let a tabloid journalist who was an old friend of his sneak in to spy on the superstar. Wagner is the author of the new book," Jimmy the Wags: Street Stories of A Private Eye" (Morrow).
