MAY 6TH DECLARED `NO DIET DAY'

PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, Manitoba (Wireless Flash) -- Calorie-counters all over the world might want to throw their scales out the window this Thursday (May 6) in honor of International No Diet Day. Linda Omichinski of Hugs International Inc., which sponsors the event, says the purpose of No Diet Day is to influence people to give up on diets which she claims are harmful to mind, body and bank account. Her advice: toss out your scale and get rid of any thin clothes this Thursday. However, Weight Watchers International has a beef with some of the tactics of "No Diet Day." Although the organization agrees dieting can be dangerous, they fear folks may take the No Diet Day idea to the extreme and spend the entire day eating junk food. The group also doesn't recommend dumping your thin clothes, because they can be an inspiration to stay fit for some people.
