`MILE-HIGH-CLUB' DECLINING IN MEMBERS

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (Wireless Flash) -- The friendly skies are getting a little less friendly these days -- at least when it comes to on-board nookie. That's according to veteran flight attendant Tim Kirkwood, who says he doesn't see nearly as many passengers attempting in- flight lovemaking as he did when he started his job 23 years ago. Kirkwood -- author of the new book "Flight Attendant Job Finder & Career Guide" (Planning/Communications) -- thinks the dwindling number of "Mile-High Club" members is because passengers these days are too preoccupied with cramped seats and crappy food to even think about sex. He says there are still some diehards who sneak into the airplane rest room to get it on, and he usually lets the randy passengers get away with their dirty deeds, unless they've acted obnoxious earlier in the flight. In those cases, Kirkwood says he gathers up all the other flight attendants and has them clap and cheer when the naughty couple step out of rest room.
