SWISS POLICE TO BUTTER FOLKS UP WITH SAUSAGES

SOLOTHURN, Switzerland (Wireless Flash) -- Police officers in Switzerland are taking a bite out of crime in their own unique way -- they're handing out sausages as well as tickets. Cops in the city of Solothurn have launched the free sausage campaign in an attempt to improve their image in the community. The force plans on handing out more than 10,000 mini- sausages by the end of the year -- including a meatless version for vegetarians. A police spokesperson says they chose tiny sausages because wieners are a lot like Swiss cops: "desirable and always well- received."
