COMMUNIST VERSION OF `PLANET HOLLYWOOD' GETS A BIG `NYET'

BUDAPEST, Hungary (Wireless Flash) -- A new restaurant in Budapest, Hungary, that's striving to be a sort of Communist- themed Planet Hollywood is getting a big "Nyet" from locals. The restaurant -- called Marxim's -- is being blasted by former communists who say they find the bistro offensive to people who served in labor camps during the Red regime. The restaurant features a hammer-and-sickle-laden decor and edible glasnost goodies with catchy names like "Gulag Pizza," "Lasagna a la Secret Police" and "Spaghetti Marxissimo." A group of former communists is now asking Hungary's Supreme Court to close down the restaurant because of its offensive excess. However, Marxim's owner, Zoltan Cuitko, says in the spirit of "glasnost," the restaurant should stay open because the point is to make fun of the old political system -- not to remind labor camp victims of their hard times.
