OREO STACKING CONTEST GETS UNDERWAY

OREO STACKING CONTEST GETS UNDERWAY

EAST HANOVER, N.J. (Wireless Flash) -- How many Oreo cookies can you stack on top of each other in 30 seconds? That's the question many kids will be asking each other this Saturday (May 22), when the annual Oreo Stacking Contest kicks off in 1400 grocery stores across America. Competitors must stack as many Oreos as they can in 30 seconds without using any glue or props, and the stack must stand for at least three seconds before falling. Last year's winner managed to stack 29 Oreos before the cookies crumbled. A spokesperson says the most successful stackers tend to use both hands to build the cookie tower or they pre-stack three or four cookies in their hands before adding them to the top of the pile. When the contest wraps up in November, two winners will receive $20,000 savings bonds and walk-on roles in the syndicated TV series "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids."
