GUYANA GOES POSTAL FOR SIDNEY SHELDON

GUYANA GOES POSTAL FOR SIDNEY SHELDON

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- The South American country of Guyana will soon be giving the stamp of approval to romance writer Sidney Sheldon, author of naughty novels like "The Other Side Of Midnight" and "Bloodline." Next month, Guyana will be issuing a stamp to honor Sheldon, whose novels have been translated into 51 languages -- more than any other author. Not bad for a guy who, when his first novel was released in 1969, was so afraid he wouldn't sell even one book that he bought a copy for himself. The Sheldon stamp will kick off a stamp series honoring "Great Writers Of the 20th Century," and other literary luminaries scheduled to get the stamp of approval include Maya Angelou and Alex Haley.
