CLASSICAL MUSIC, SITAR CAN DRIVE YOU CRAZY

LAS VEGAS (Wireless Flash) -- Although some folks think Marilyn Manson's music has a negative effect on teens, classical music can be just as bad. It turns out any music that contains loud volume, dissonant harmonies and chaotic rhythms can cause people to become violent. That's according to Las Vegas-based music educator Ron Kurz who says Igor Stravinsky's "Rite Of Spring" is so disharmonious that audiences actually rioted when it was first performed. Rap is also bad because the beats throw off the natural rhythms of the body, causing increased aggression. Even Ravi Shankar's Indian ragas make people nervous and tense. There is so music that has a negative effect on the body that Kurz feels every home should have a "musical medical chest" of CDs capable of counteracting the negative vibes. He says the best way to cure music mania is by listening to artists like Tony Bennett, The Modern Jazz Quartet and Kenny Rogers.
