THE REAL REASON `TWO FAT LADIES' ARE FAT

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Ever wonder how the two chefs on the Food Network's "Two Fat Ladies" show got so fat? Well, according to the new book "TV Chefs" (Renaissance Books), "Fat Lady" Clarissa Dickson-Wright is obese due to a glitch in her adrenal glands caused by 12 years of boozing it up. It seems Dickson-Wright drank two bottles of gin a day in the form of gin and tonics, and the quinine in the tonic water permanently slowed her metabolism down. She's since kicked the sauce and is now a recovering alcoholic. The other "Fat Lady," Jennifer Paterson, has a few boozy skeletons in her closet too. Before landing her TV cooking gig, she was fired from her job as a matron at a girls' school after she gave the girls shots of gin to ease their menstrual cramps.
