HALF OF AMERICANS APPROVE OF CHILD SPANKINGS

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- A brand-spanking new survey suggests that spankings aren't out of vogue: In fact, more than half of adults think it's OK to spank children. The survey conducted by Children's Institute International, reveals that 55 percent of Americans think children occasionally need a "...good, hard spanking." -- Men are more willing to give junior a whipping: 61 percent of guys say they'd spank a kid compared to only 50 percent of the ladies. -- 82 percent say they were spanked when they were young and 27 percent admit they were struck hard enough to be injured. -- 71 percent think spanking a child isn't considered child abuse if the whipping doesn't leave any telltale marks. -- However, only 8 percent think spanking is the best way to discipline a child.
