LINDA McCARTNEY FIGHTS FOR FISH RIGHTS FROM THE GRAVE

NORFOLK, Va. (Wireless Flash) -- Famous vegetarian Linda McCartney may have been dead for a year but that's not stopping her from fighting for animal rights. Starting today (June 7), McCartney will be starring in a new anti-fishing TV spot sponsored by People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The public service announcement features footage of the former Beatle wife that was videotaped before she died last April, and is being released to coincide with National Fishing Week, which also begins today. In the spot, McCartney explains why she's against fishing by saying, "People say fish don't have feelings. But I say, `Have you ever seen a fish gasping for breath when you take it out of the water?" PETA says it hopes the spot will convince fishers to pitch their poles for good.
