DONALD DUCK TURNS 65 ON WEDNESDAY (JUNE 9)

GLEN OAKS, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) -- Cartoon character Donald Duck will turn 65 tomorrow (June 9) but don't expect age to mellow his cranky personality. According to Dr. Gregory Hinrichsen, a geriatric psychologist at Hillside Hospital in Glen Oaks, New York, folks who are bad tempered at age 30 are usually still cranky at age 65. Hinrichsen concedes not much research has been done on the personalities of geriatric ducks, but he says it's highly likely that Donald Duck will continue to be in a "fowl mood" for a long time to come -- which may be good news for his health. Some research suggests cranky oldsters live the longest and bad tempers may be an important survival skill. It's still possible Donald may mellow with age, but Hinrichsen says it probably won't happen unless he moves in with Daisy and kicks his nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie out of the house.
