ERIC CLAPTON BUYS GUITARS TO MATCH HIS CARS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Guitar god Eric Clapton has a bizarre habit: he likes his guitars to match the color of his cars. Later this month at the Christie's auction house in New York, Clapton will auction off about 100 of his guitars -- including several which he bought just to match the cars in his collection. There's a 1996 Fender Stratocaster that Clapton sprayed with a black-green paint to match his Mercedes C36, a 1987 Stratocaster he chose to match the color of his red Ferrari and a 1986 Stratocaster with a pewter finish that matched another Mercedes he owned. The Clapton guitar auction will take place June 24.
