HALE-BOPP COMET FAILS SMOG TEST

GREENBELT, Md. (Wireless Flash) -- The approaching Comet Lee is creating a lot of buzz right now, but not with the folks at NASA. Scientists at the space agency have just released a new report on the infamous Hale-Bopp comet, which supposedly influenced members of the Heaven's Gate cult to commit suicide in 1997. The new analysis reveals that Hale-Bopp is a gross polluter which releases obscene amounts of carbon monoxide every day -- about the same amount as emitted by 5.5. billion cars. Astronomer Dr. Michael Mumma (MOO-muh) says scientists hope to use the new Hale-Bopp data to shed light as to what was going on when the solar system were formed.
