MR. E.T. GOES TO WASHINGTON: UFO INITIATIVE TO UNCOVER TRUTH

AVON, Conn. (Wireless Flash) -- A group known as the Mutual UFO Network is proposing a ballot initiative that would ask Congress to declare the year 2000 as "The Year of UFO Awareness." Robert Bletchman, the author of the initiative, hopes it will force the government to reveal everything it knows about UFOs, extraterrestrial spacecraft and alien creatures. The initiative would also grant immunity to government and military officials who are under strict orders not to discuss such matters. Bletchman says UFO data should be made available to all citizens, not just a handful of government officials. Otherwise, if ET vehicles do exist, it's possible the military could misidentify them as enemy warplanes, shoot at them, and trigger a nuclear war. The group plans on starting a nationwide petition drive to get the initiative into Capitol Hill.
