KIDNAP INSURANCE FOR OVERSEAS TRAVELERS

KIDNAP INSURANCE FOR OVERSEAS TRAVELERS

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Wireless Flash) -- Overseas travelers now have more to worry about than malaria and Montezuma's Revenge: there's a chance they might be kidnapped. The problem is so out of hand that an insurance firm is offering a "kidnap and ransom" policy for travelers. The Ohio-based Assurex Insurance company claims random tourist kidnappings are on the rise -- especially in Latin American countries like Columbia, Mexico and Brazil. The policies will pay up to $10 million in ransom in the event anyone in your family is kidnapped and held hostage while traveling abroad. Although it sounds morbid, the company claims kidnap insurance greatly increases the odds of surviving a foreign kidnapping.
