AUNT MARTHA'S ASHES TURNED INTO ARTIFICIAL REEF

AUNT MARTHA'S ASHES TURNED INTO ARTIFICIAL REEF

ATLANTA, Ga. (Wireless Flash) -- An Atlanta man has found a way to honor deceased loved ones by turning them into artificial underwater reefs. Inventor Don Brawley is creating what he calls "Eternal Reefs" by mixing cremated human ashes with concrete. The recipe makes a 4-foot by 6-foot-wide artificial reef which is then dropped into the ocean to create new eco-systems. Each reef weighs about 3600 pounds and costs anywhere from $850 to $3200 depending on whether the deceased wants a private reef or a communal model. Brawley claims his Eternal Reefs are perfect for folks who find ordinary cemeteries boring or for those who get a kick knowing they're snorkeling around Uncle Leo or Aunt Martha.
