FEMINIST BACKLASH: 34 PERCENT OF BRIDES PLEDGE TO `OBEY' HUSBANDS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- The National Organization for Women probably won't want to hear this, but many brides-to-be say they are perfectly willing to "serve" their man. According to a new poll by "Bride's" magazine, nearly 34 percent of brides-to-be say they will happily pledge to "obey" their husbands in their wedding vows. The survey also reveals that... -- 78 percent admit they will go the old-fashioned route and take their husband's last name once they're hitched. -- 10 percent plan to be modern and use a hyphenated name, while 6 percent will keep their maiden name. -- Finally, not every wedding trend is going back to the Dark Ages: 2 percent of engaged women say they took matters into their own hands and ask their boyfriends to marry them.
