NEW ENGLANDERS HAVE ODD USES FOR APPLIANCES

BOSTON (Wireless Flash) -- Folks in New England are using a little Yankee ingenuity to find new uses for kitchen appliances. According to a new study by Energy Star, at least 35 percent of New Englanders use their refrigerators to store dead animals. In fact, one New Hampshire woman admits she placed her dead cat in the refrigerator because the ground was too hard to dig a grave. -- A woman in Fairfield County, Connecticut, claims she uses her microwave to dry money. -- A family in rural Rhode Island cleans horses using a regular vacuum cleaner. -- And then there's the Boston man who reports that he cleans his bowling ball quite successfully by dropping it into his dishwasher.
