WOMAN KEEPS HOUSE COOL WITH BEER CAN CURTAIN
HOUSTON, Tex. (Wireless Flash) -- Beer doesn't just cool down your tummy, it can also cool down your house. That's the word from an 82-year-old woman in Houston, Texas, whose entire house is wrapped in a giant curtain made out of empty beer cans. Mary Milkovisch says the beer can curtain was a pet project of her late husband, John, who started constructing the metal veil in 1980. The curtain contains more than 10,000 beer cans from around the world strung together like a metallic version of those beaded curtains popular in the '60s. Although she thought his idea was crazy at first, Mary's grown to love the beer can curtain and claims it provides great insulation.
