`THE HAUNTING' PRODUCER HONORS HER HORROR ROOTS

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- Horror is all in the family for 81-year-old producer Samuel Z. Arkoff and his daughter Donna Arkoff-Roth. The younger Arkoff is following in the footsteps of her dad, who produced "I Was A Teenage Werewolf" and other campy cult classics. Donna is the producer of the new haunted house movie, "The Haunting," and says her dad taught her the art of filmmaking by allowing her to stay up late with him and watch really bad horror movies. She claims the late-night TV screenings showed her exactly what SHOULDN'T be done on screen. Evidently, the senior Arkoff -- who's currently planning a new version of his famous werewolf flick -- is pleased with the results of his tutelage. Donna says her dad was "beaming" with delight after he previewed the flick. "The Haunting" opens in theaters today (July 23).
