WEDDING BELLE BLUES: REAL `RUNAWAY BRIDES'

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- The new Julia Roberts movie "Runaway Bride" may be Hollywood fiction, but it's a lot closer to reality than you think. That's according to wedding expert Carley Roney of The Knot.com, who claims she's counseled quite a few real-life "runaway brides" who ran out on their grooms on the big day. One bride actually locked herself in her bathroom an hour before the ceremony and made her sister break the bad news to the groom. Then there was the bride who purposely gave wrong directions to her limo driver en route to the church just to avoid the ceremony. Although Roney advises brides with cold feet to cancel the nuptials well before the big day, she says a last minute ditch is still better than getting hitched to someone who's not right for you. "Runaway Bride" opens this Friday (July 30).
