WASPS CREATING PSYCHEDELIC ART

EDMONTON, Can. (Wireless Flash) -- Wasp nests could become the artwork of the future if an entomologist in Edmonton, Canada can work out the bugs. Dr. Jim Ryan's art project involves feeding sheets of red, blue and green paper to more than 1000 wasps, who then create psychedelic-colored nests. Ryan claims the insect art is completely different from anything created by human hands and he finds it fascinating to watch the wasps chew up the colored paper before turning it into a psychedelic shack. Now he hopes to get people in interested in the insect art by marketing wasp "artist lofts" similar to ant farms. Ryan hopes to finance his "pest project" by selling completed wasp nests to art galleries.
