WIRELESS FLASH BRIEFS FROM AROUND THE WORLD

DALLAS (Wireless Flash) -- When it comes to celebrity mutts, Lassie is still top dog. According to a poll by Blockbuster Video, Lassie is the movie mutt most Americans wish was their own pet. Other desirable dogs include Old Yeller, Buddy from the "Air Bud" movies and Benji. Amazingly, Toto from "The Wizard Of Oz" only ranks No. 9. -- PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- Those raunchy movie-making brothers, Peter and Bobby Farrelly, are looking for actors with a real bite -- literally. Actor Shawn Hatosy, who stars in the new flick, "Outside Providence," say the brothers were more interested in his teeth than his acting. Hatosy claims that the two men examined his teeth during his audition and told him, "Your teeth are pretty ugly for an actor, but they're perfect for the character." -- NEW YORK -- Talk about smelling like a rose -- Pete Rose. A 1977 in-store display for Aqua-Velva after shave featuring banned baseball player Pete Rose will be auctioned off by Sotheby's in September. Experts estimate the artifact is only worth about $500.
