LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- Satirist Stan Freberg turns 73 on Saturday (Aug. 7), but he has no plans for retirement. Freberg -- who was declared "The Father of the Funny Commercial" by "Advertising Age" magazine -- jokes his next goal is to film the world's first infomercial that won't "...actually sell the product until the last five minutes." Freberg's latest project is a four-CD retrospective titled "Tip Of The Freberg." -- CHICAGO -- Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos will temporarily give up his day job on Friday to play disc jockey at a record release party for the pop band Guided By Voices. However, Bun E. won't be playing any dance music. Word is he will be sticking strictly to classic pop "a la" The Kinks, The Who and The Nazz. -- LOS ANGELES -- Britney Spears and Christine Aguilera will be getting some competition from the Olsen Twins. Former "Full House" stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will soon be releasing a Christmas album titled "Mary-Kate And Ashley Olsen's Cool Yule." Inside sources claims the seasonal CD will feature an R&B version of "White Christmas" and a salsa version of "12 Days Of Christmas."
