SKEPTICS TO TEST LIMITS OF FRIDAY THE 13TH BAD LUCK

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- Mindy Sperling -- who played Frau Farbissina in "The Spy Who Shagged Me" -- will be risking seven years of bad luck next Friday the 13th. Sperling will be taking part in a "superstition bash" sponsored by "Skeptical Inquirer" magazine to challenge popular superstitions such as never walk under a ladder or open an umbrella indoors. Her assignment will be to smash a large glass mirror in Los Angeles, which is supposed to guarantee seven years of bad luck. Organizers figure that Sperling's presence will help convince folks there's nothing wrong with stepping on cracks or letting black cats cross your path. "Skeptical Inquirer" will be holding similar superstition bashes in Buffalo, New York, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
