`INTERNET VIRGINS' HOAX TO HAVE ITS DAY IN COURT

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- Remember last summer's infamous "internet virgins" stunt? Well, the sexy fiasco has wound up in court. A Los Angeles actor named Ken Tipton -- who claims he created the internet virgin website last summer as a media prank -- is suing Internet Entertainment Group, which was scheduled to webcast the event to millions. Tipton claims the stunt was never intended to make money and that he just wanted to prove how lax reporters have become when it comes to investigating sensationalized sex stories -- but IEG pulled the plug on the bogus bonking after it discovered the event was a hoax. Tipton's lawsuit claims IEG reneged on the contract to webcast the event and that it publicly defamed him. A spokesperson for Internet Entertainment Group claims the company blew the lid off the "virgins" hoax because Tipton never told them the stunt was fake. IEG has filed a counterclaim against Tipton, claiming he always intended to rip-off the public and become rich off the deal. A pre-trial hearing will be held August 30.
