COMPUTERIZED FASHION IN THE WORKS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- The next century should be a great time for gadget freaks. "Details" magazine is reporting that "smart clothes" -- which are wearable computers -- will be the wave of the future. Some of the actual items now being developed include... -- The "Underwear Computer," which is a tank top that stores your medical records just in case you get hit by a bus. -- "Smart Shoes" connected to a heart-rate monitor that will instruct your computer tank top to notify 911 if you keel over with a heart attack. -- "Intelligent Earrings" which will be double as cell phones, microphones and speakers. -- Scientists are also working on "Smart Sunglasses" with built-in recognition software that will flash a person's name on a screen hidden in your lenses. Many of the electronic fashion devices will be available by 2005.
