NEW GADGET CAN STOP HURRICANES IN THEIR TRACKS

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (Wireless Flash) -- Good news for folks fearing all those tropical storms brewing in the Atlantic ocean: a Maryland-based inventor has created a "Hurricane Stopper." The machine uses air compressors to release bubbles on the ocean floor. The rising bubbles then push cold water up to the surface where it cools off the hot pockets of ocean water that fuel hurricanes. Inventor Dr. Win Wenger claims his "Hurricane Stopper" can defuse a massive storm much quicker than letting it die out naturally. However, he hasn't developed a prototype yet and admits it would cost about $20 million to build just one machine to protect a 120-square-mile area. Wenger thinks his "Hurricane Stopper" is such an important invention that he has placed plans for the device on his website in case anyone wants to build one. The plans for the "Hurricane Stopper" can be accessed at http://www.winwenger.com
