GROUP ORGANIZES `MILLION MAN REST'

OXNARD, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- Labor Day won't be Labor Day this year if an overworked group has its way. An organization based in Oxnard, California, called the "Men Of Leisure" plans on holding a "Million Man Rest" on September 6 to convince the U.S. Congress that Labor Day should be renamed "Leisure Day." Men Of Leisure president Daniel Rydberg claims Labor Day has gone from being a day of rest to a day for getting chores down around the house. To protest the change, participants in the Million Man Rest must pledge to sit on their fat behinds for at least one hour on Labor Day. The group also wants to ban any competitive sports on Labor Day, as well as home improvement projects and anything else that remotely resembles work -- with the exception of pulling a pop top off a beer can. Although the Men Of Leisure have posted a petition on a website asking Congress to rename Labor Day, Rydberg admits most supporters are too lazy to log onto the site.
