OUTHOUSE RACE BECOMING TOO COMPETITIVE

DAWSON CITY, Yukon Territory (Wireless Flash) -- Things aren't running as smoothly as they could at an annual outhouse race in Canada's Yukon Territory. It seems some participants at the Great Klondike International Outhouse Race are crapping out of the September 5th event because other contestants have become too competitive. Organizer Celeste Michon says the careening commode contest is supposed to be a humorous affair where folks decorate their outhouses and give them names like "The Mad Crapper" or "The Whizzer of Oz." However, a few competitive teams are flushed with too much enthusiasm and are treating the loo race like an Olympic event. As a result, some potential spectators say plan on pooh-poohing the event. Meanwhile, outhouse race organizers say they hope to slam the lid on any bad feelings by offering drink specials to encourage racers to take "potty stops" along the 2-mile course.
