GARAGE SALE EXPERT: `GREED IS GOOD'

SALEM, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) -- Neighborhood garage sales are becoming just as cutthroat as Wall Street trading floors. That's according to garage sale expert John Lundgren, who claims shows like the PBS series, "Antiques Roadshow," are creating a glut of greedy bargain hunters who hope to make a mint off garage sale trinkets. Lundgren -- who's been a garage sale buyer for more than 30 years -- estimates in the last year alone there's been a tenfold increase in the amount of garage sale shoppers. Although he admits the money-making motivation is a sad commentary on society, he claims all this greed is good if you're planning on holding a garage sale this weekend. That's because the greedy treasure hunters are snatching up even the most useless item in the hopes that it may be of value to a collector. Lundgren is the author of a new book, "How to Turn Your Garage Sale Into a Money Machine."
