NEWSCAST TO FEATURE BIKINI-CLAD ANCHORS

MIAMI (Wireless Flash) -- The term "news buff" will have a new meaning come January, when a syndicated nightly newscast featuring bikini-clad anchors will make its debut. The TV news show -- titled "Bare Essentials News" -- will report on current news events and the on-camera journalists will wear skimpy bathing suits throughout the half-hour broadcasts. Executive producer Tom Pennington claims all newscasts pander for ratings but his nearly-nude newscast will be the first to publicly admit it. Pennington says his producers are ""currently scouring the top journalism schools for talented young journalists who have good grades and great bodies. Although the show is mainly looking for shapely young bodies, Pennington admits he would consider hiring Barbara Walters or Hugh Downs -- if they don't mind wearing skimpy swimsuits.
