SOSA HAS 11 PERCENT CHANCE OF BREAKING HOME RUN RECORD

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (Wireless Flash) -- Chicago Cubs slugger Sammy Sosa will probably slam his way into the record books according to a statistics expert at Texas A&M University. Dr. Scott Berry says Sosa not only has a 97 percent chance of being the 5th player to hit more than 60 home runs, he has an 11 percent chance of breaking Mark McGwire's last season record of 70 dingers. Mighty McGwire isn't far behind. Berry figures the St. Louis Cardinal super slugger has a 92 percent of hitting 60 and a six percent chance of hitting more than 70 by season's end. No one else is even close to hitting as many homers. In fact, the player with the best chance of hitting 60 homers this year is Seattle Mariners star Ken Griffey, Jr., who has just a 3 percent chance.
