MYSTERIOUS 24-TOED CAT BRINGS GOOD LUCK TO ANIMAL SHELTER

RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- A mysterious cat with six toes on each paw is bringing a rash of good luck to the animal shelter which recently rescued the stray kitten. The 3-month-old tomcat is extremely rare according to officials at the Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe, California. Spokesperson John Van Zante says sailors and pioneers considered six-toed cats to be lucky, and recent events at the shelter suggest the legend may be true. Since the kitten arrived, several sick horses have mysteriously healed themselves and the phones have been ringing off the hook with people becoming volunteers. The six-toed kitten has been named "Seis" (Spanish for six), and despite being a good luck charm, the shelter says it's eager to find a home for the little squirt.
