CROONING POOCHES FACE OFF IN SINGING PET CONTEST

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Your dog may be a cool cat -- but can it do an impression of Alanis Morissette? There's a Jack Russell terrier named Kelsey from Abilene, Texas, who can do just that and he's one of the competitors in a singing pet contest that will be held on Wednesday (Sept. 15). The mutt loves to sing to Alanis songs like "Uninvited" and he has an emotional angst in his voice similar to his human idol. Other crooning pooches scheduled for the competition include... -- A female yellow lab from Chicago, who sings to Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me To the Moon," in a breathy voice that sounds like a boy going through puberty. -- A terrier mix named Princess from Spring, Texas, that makes a sound amazingly similar to a police siren. -- And, finally, there's Vixen, the Jazz Diva. She's an American Eskimo dog from Los Angeles who can hit the high notes like Whitney Houston, but she prefers singing along with the 1980s punk act Siouxsie And The Banshees.
