THIN PEOPLE PEEVED OVER `WIN-YOUR-WEIGHT-IN-SAPPHIRES CONTEST'

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- A contest offering a chance "to win your weight in sapphires" is being blasted by a thin sweepstakes buff who claims the contest gives fat people an unfair advantage. The American Gem Corporation is holding a drawing where the top prize will be the winner's weight in sapphires up to 200 pounds, However, 155-pound sweepstakes buff Steve LeDoux of Los Angeles says basing the size of the prize on weight gives large folks a heavy advantage. Although he claims he's not biased against fat folks, he fears some skinny sweepstakes enthusiasts may risk their health by pigging out before the official weigh-in. Meanwhile, the weight-conscious sweepstakes is getting a big show of support from the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance which believes the contest is much "...fairer than a pie-eating contest."
