`LOBSTER BOY' SAGA BECOMES A MUSICAL

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash) -- Remember the bizarre case of the sideshow freak known as Lobster Boy? His family had him bumped off in the early 1990s after he allegedly abused them. Now a Chicago theater company has turned the life of the Lobster Boy into a musical titled -- what else? -- "Lobster Boy!" The Lobster Boy -- aka Grady Stiles -- had deformed hands and feet that resembled a lobster and was a popular sideshow freak during the '70s and '80s. The creator of the musical, Mike Watkins, says at first he intended to turn Lobster Boy's story into a campy satire, but the more research he did, the more he realized it was a serious story. One of Lobster Boy's showstoppers is a love ballad titled "Forever" where Lobster Boy laments how human rights activists are closing down sideshows and ruining his livelihood.
