NO BIG SURPRISE: Y2K NEW YEARS WILL SOCK IT TO YOUR WALLET

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- If you want to celebrate New Year's Eve in style this year, you're going to pay through the nose. According to the latest Dom Perignon Celebration Index -- which measures the average cost of a fancy New Year's night on the town -- revelers will shell out 20 percent more to ring in the new year than they did in 1998. The biggest price-gouging is in transportation: the price of renting a Bentley and chauffeur is $5000 -- double what it was last year. The cost of a 10-minute fireworks show has also skyrocketed from $40,000 to $75,000. Finally, even your bubbly will cost more on December 31st: a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne has increased 6 percent from $100 to $106.
