Y2K COULD RAISE PRICES OF COFFEE, KETCHUP

BOZEMAN, Montana (Wireless Flash) -- America's biggest Y2K headache won't be computer related -- it'll be trying to make a decent cup of coffee. According to disaster preparedness expert Steve Quayle -- who happens to be a distant cousin of Dan Quayle -- some of the top coffee-producing countries are woefully unprepared for Y2K which could mean a coffee shortage sometime in 2000. He predicts fancy-shmancy coffees could become valuable commodities on the black market, and Americans who depend on their morning cup of java could end up with massive headaches from caffeine withdrawal. Quayle also predicts condiments like ketchup, mustard and Tabasco sauce will become hot commodities on the Y2K black market -- partly, he says, because "Americans can't accept bland food -- even in a crisis."
